Anti-abortion protest will take a new route EVERETT The leader of an anti-abortion group and Everett Police Chief Al Shelstad have agreed on a compromise route for a planned protest against abortions. A compromise became necessary after city officials denied a permit for a proposed march in front of the Feminist Women's Health Center in Everett. The city administration denied a parade permit, and Carl Codispoti, chairman of the anti-abortion group Choose Life, appealed the action to the council. Council members upheld the denial, saying they didn't want the parade going in iront of the center, where abortions are performed, because of a tense situation involving anti-abortionists and clinic supporters. They gave Codispoti a week to work with the chief to devise an alter.

nate route. The new proposal calls for demonstrators to gather at noon at the intersection of Hoyt and California avenues. The march will proceed cast on California to Colby Avenue, where it will turn north. At Colby and 24th Street, the marchers will turn east and disband at Clark Park, where a rally is planned. Codispoti said he expects between 500 and 1,000 marchers.
