Spotify has hiked its subscription prices in the U.S. again.

On Monday, the company announced the new pricing plans, starting at $11.99 for Individual subscribers. Spotify Duo now costs $16.99 per month, Family plan is $19.99, while Student plan costs $5.99 per month.

"So that we can continue to invest in and innovate on our product features and bring users the best experience, we occasionally update our prices," the company wrote in a blog post.

According to Spotify, existing subscribers in the U.S. will receive an email "over the next month," notifying them about the new pricing, which goes into effect in July.

This the second time Spotify has increased its subscription prices in the U.S. over the span of 12 months. The company increased its prices from $9.99 to $10.99 in July 2023. A report from Bloomberg in April said that Spotify might leave the price at $10.99 for users who don't want audiobooks, but that didn't happen. All premium Spotify tiers (except for the Student tier) still get 15 hours of audiobook listening per month.

In the least surprising development ever, the company hasn't said a word about its Supremium plan, which it originally announced under the name Spotify HiFi in February 2021 (yes, more than three years ago). Every now and the, the company mentions the new plan which is supposedly in the works, but it still hasn't materialized.
